Graham Stanes J
I started FinanceTool in June 2026 to make financial numbers easier to work with and easier to understand. Today the site offers free, ad-supported calculators and educational guides. I also offer manual monthly P&L explanations for small service businesses, arranged directly with me through an enquiry.
Why we built it
Most financial calculators online are buried in ads, ask for your email, or spit out a number with no explanation. We thought money math deserved better. FinanceTool is a growing library of focused calculators, from Coast FIRE and take-home pay by state to mortgage payoff, compound interest, and credit-card payoff, each paired with a short, plain-English guide so the result actually makes sense.
How it works
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser and updates live as you type, so you get an answer the moment you change a number. Because the math happens on your device, calculator inputs are processed locally rather than sent to an AI model. Site browsing and advertising may involve technical data and cookies, as explained in the Privacy Policy. The tools are designed mobile-first, so they’re just as clean on a phone as on a desktop.
Our commitment to accuracy
Formula test files cover numerical examples and edge cases, and tax tools model published federal and state figures. These checks are not an independent audit or a guarantee that every rule applies to your situation. That said, our calculators give estimates for general education, not personalized financial, tax, or investment advice. For decisions that matter, please confirm with a qualified professional.
How we stay free
FinanceTool is supported by advertising, which lets us keep every calculator free for everyone. You can read exactly how ads and cookies work in our Privacy Policy.
Who it’s for
FinanceTool is for anyone weighing an everyday money decision and wanting a clear answer without a sales pitch. That might be a first-time saver checking what a certificate of deposit pays, a worker comparing take-home pay between two states, a homeowner seeing how one extra mortgage payment a year shortens the loan, or someone mapping out an early-retirement number. You do not need a finance background. Each tool asks for a few plain inputs and explains the result in everyday language, so the math is doing the work, not the jargon.
How we decide what to build
We build calculators around the questions people actually type into a search bar, then design each one to answer that question completely on a single page. We aim to pair formulas with automated tests, explain results in plain English, and link to related calculators and guides you are likely to want next. We would rather publish one calculator that is genuinely useful and well explained than a dozen thin ones, so the library grows steadily rather than all at once.
Keeping figures current
Tax and contribution figures change, so it is important to check the assumptions, modeled year, review notes, and sources on the calculator you use. Primary references include the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where relevant. A source link or review date does not guarantee a rule is still current or covers your circumstances. Please report outdated figures through the contact page.

Monthly P&L explanations
I offer manual explanations of monthly revenue, expense and profit changes for small service businesses. Starter and Business plans are arranged by enquiry, with the scope, payment terms and delivery details agreed before payment.
Automated AI report generation is not offered on this site. The manual service is separate from the free calculators. Please agree a secure document-sharing method with me before sending sensitive records; do not attach them to an initial email enquiry.
